Colour can be added to concrete ‘in the mix’ at the time it is being batched at the concrete plant. This gives a depth of colour throughout the entire laid slab of concrete, allowing for long term colour performance, even if surface scuffing or chipping occurs.
The second method is by adding oxide colour hardeners to freshly laid concrete. This is a cost effective way to achieving a coloured finish.
There is a wide range of natural colours available, making coloured concrete ideal for around your home, allowing you to create your own style and look. A contrasting colour, along with a stenciled or a highlighted border tool can also add to the overall appearance. Both methods have either sawcut or tooled expansion joints as well as two coats of quality concrete sealer to protect and enhance the appearance.

Sawcut Pattern :
This involves cutting ‘pattern’ lines into the concrete once it has hardened.
The pattern size of choice is marked onto the new concrete slab (usually squares or diamond shape). The pattern is then cut into the slab to a depth of approx 30mm using a diamond bladed concrete saw. The sawcut acts as a pattern as well as an expansion joint.
Highlighted boarder tools can be used to give a picture framing affect to your job and give a huge lift to the overall appearance.
This type of finish suits old and new homes alike and has a look that you will never get tired of.
